ARE YOUR SKILLS RUSTY? Try the DFS 5-day intermediate kicking challenge.

Kicking can be a complex skill to master. However, it is important players learn the right technique so they can (a) kick under pressure, (b) pass the ball accurately to a teammate and (c) use the ball to the best advantage of their team when kicking from a set position.

CONFIDENCE in your technique is the key to ELITE KICKING.

DAY ZERO

Watch the ‘Intermediate Kick’ and ‘Benchmark’ videos . Make sure you take some notes to help consolidate your learning. After watching the below videos, perform the ‘Hit the Post’ challenge as your benchmarking. Record your score. Also describe how you feel when you kick the ball.

DAY ONE - FIVE

DAY 1: Perform the following activities for a minimum of 1 hour focusing on the key points from the videos: Crane Kick; Solo Kick Level 1; Solo Kick Level 2; Solo Kick Level 3.

DAY 2: Perform the following activities for a minimum of 1 hour focusing on the key points from the videos: Crane Kick; Tennis Ball Kicking; Line Kicking.

DAY 3: Perform the following activities for a minimum of 1 hour focusing on the key points from the videos: Crane Kick; Solo Kick Level 4; Solo Kick Level 5; Pairs Kicking Level 1.

DAY 4: Perform the following activities for a minimum of 1 hour focusing on the key points from the videos: Tennis Ball Kicking; Pairs Kicking Level 2; Pairs Kicking Level 3.

DAY 5: Perform the following activities for a minimum of 1 hour focusing on the key points from the videos: Crane Kick; Pairs Kicking Level 2; Pairs Kicking Level 3.

DAY 6: Perform the ‘Hit the Post’ challenge as your benchmarking. Record your score. Also describe how you feel when you kick the ball and any improvements you have noticed.
