The head coaches of the program possess enormous experience across many levels of football, and they can’t wait to share their knowledge and passion with participants. If you want to “get the edge” for the 2016 season, look no further than the Elite Pre-Season Training Program, and be mentored by the following head coaches;
The Director of Coaching at DFS, ‘Tala’ has coached and mentored many players who are now enjoying successful AFL careers. During that time, Tala has also served as an Academy Coach at both the Calder Cannons and Northern Knights, where he was the Head of Football Development
The Head of Coaching at DFS, ‘Pottsy’ is one of the most sought after junior development coaches in the country. As well as being a Talent Identification Officer at the Carlton Football Club, Pottsy also acts as the Representative Manager at the Northern Football League and holds a key position at TAC Cup level. Like Tala, Pottsy has been intimately involved with many talented junior stars who are now carving out a career at the highest level.
An experienced sports manager who is passionate about coaching and junior development, “JC” is the full-time General Manager for DFS. The current head coach of the Under 14 rep side at the Essendon District Football League, JC developed his hunger for footy mentoring during his 7 years at the Collingwood Football Club, where he was employed full time in roles relating to Opposition Analysis and Player Recruitment. JC lists former colleagues Mick Malthouse, Guy McKenna, Brad Scott and Alan Richardson as the greatest influences on his coaching beliefs.
‘Adz’, who has completed his Masters in Exercise Science in recent months, will design and manage all fitness components of the Elite PTP in 2016. The Masters in Exercise Science complements the degree in Sport and Exercise Science that he already has. In addition to the Head of Strength and Conditioning role at DFS, Adz will work with the Coburg Football Club in the VFL in 2016 in the strength and conditioning department.
