DFS Youth Girls coach Lauren Arnell once again donned the red, white and blue playing for the Western Bulldogs taking part in AFL Womens Game for the third consecutive year, last Sunday.
Women from around Australia are drafted during a national draft evening, similar to the AFL National draft which is held every November.
DFS Youth Girls head coach during the most recent 2014 STP, Lauren has taken part in every game of this ever-growing annual event.
Once again with the support of the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne AFL clubs, this year actually features two games, both as curtain raisers to the men’s contests.
Unfortunately for Lauren the result didn’t go the Dogs way going down by 8 points in a tightly fought contest at the MCG.
DFS Coaching Director Adrian Talarico said it was great to see one of DFS coaches excelling at their footy.
“Our 2014 Elite program youth girls were privileged to have someone of Lauren’s calibre as a part of the DFS coaching team. Being selected for the third time just shows how dedicated she is to the game,” he said.
“Her story and others shows to girls who take part in our Youth Girls programs that there is a valid pathway to pursue a footy dream.”
No fewer than 12 of the DFS Youth Girls are playing completing the 2015 metro championships.
Lauren’s next AFL Womens game will be played on August 16.
